Daniele ham, smoked ham from Sauris, and the Frico
(mountain cheese flakes cooked in a pan). |

DAY 2: UDINE |
| DAY 3: COLLIO ORIENTALE
- CIVIDALE DEL FRIULI Breakfast in Hotel. Departure by Deluxe Coach to the local towns of FAEDIS, CORNO DI ROSAZZO, CIALLA, PREPOTTO and CIVIDALE DEL FRIULI. Visit of the small villages, each one of which has a beautiful old town centre tasting wine in a local wine cellar. Lunch in a characteristic restaurant. In the afternoon visit CIVIDALE DEL FRIULI. The origins of this town, date back to 50BC; founded by Julius Caesar who called it 'Forum Julii'. Its origins have made the town of great interest to tourists. Monuments to visit here include the Devil's Bridge, the Medieval House, the Monastery of St Maria in Valle, the Cathedral and the Christian Museum, the Longobard Temple, the Orsoline Nativity Scene, the Celtic Hypogeum and the National Archaeological Museum. |

DAY 4: COLLIO ORIENTALE - GORIZIA - GRADISCA D'ISONZO Breakfast in Hotel. Departure by Deluxe Coach to CAPRIVA DEL FRIULI and DOLEGNA DEL COLLIO. Visit of the small villages each one of which has a beautiful old town centre tasting wine in a local wine cellar. Lunch in a characteristic restaurant. In the afternoon visit of GORIZIA and GRADISCA D'ISONZO. Gorizia is an interestig city with its Medieval centre offers much to see such as the Castle of Gorizia (the symbol of the city) the "Palazzotto dei Conti", the "Palazzo degli Stati Provinciali", the "Palazzetto Veneto", the small church S.Spirit, the Donberg and Tasso hauses, the War Museum, the Catedral, the church of S.Ignazio, the "Palazzo Attems Petzenstein", the synagogue, the didatic Museum "the small Jerusalem on the Isonzo, the church of S. Rocco, the "Palazzo Cobenzl" and the "Palazzo Coroncini Cronberg". |
| In Gradisca d'Isonzo you can see: the "Civic Gradiscano Museum", the "Regional Gallery of Contempory Art of LUIGI SPAZZAPAN", the "Civic Lapidary " and the "Documentary Museum of the City". The visit includes the tasting wine in local wine cellar. Return to the Hotel. Dinner and overnight. | |
| DAY 5: SAN DANIELE DEL FRIULI Breakfast in Hotel. Departure by Deluxe Coach to San Daniele del Friuli This town is world famous for its prosciutto - raw ham - (its genuine taste depends on the climate of this area). In San Daniele you can enjoy to see the beautiful architecture and its many other attractions. Our tour starts with a stroll through the old streets where are located the Cathedral and the Guarmeriana Library (which you will visit in the afternoon) is the oldest in Friuli, one of the first in Italy. Our tour includes a visit to a "prosciutto factory" for tasting this world famous raw-ham with a glass of wine. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Return at the Hotel. Dinner and overnight. |
